TAKE 01

TAKE is a collection of monographic booklets illustrating selected TVK projects. This first issue, devised in collaboration with Building Paris graphic design studio, proposes an exploration of the Place de la République, now the largest pedestrian square in Paris. Here, TVK comes up with a new way of looking at the public place. The square has become a unitary, evident and symbolic space, which plays host to every manner of programme and crowd: a republican stage, no less. This bilingual (French/English) issue presents photographs of the square’s construction and its uses, as well as photos of the re-organized public place, with a political essay by Susana Torre, hitherto unpublished in French, about the appropriation of the public place by the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires.
